With one class per year group and an average class size of around 21 pupils, Waverley provides a genuinely personalised education.
Our teachers know their pupils exceptionally well and can provide both support and challenge according to individual needs. From the earliest years in Nursery through to Year 6, we aim to develop confident, independent learners who are ready to embrace every opportunity.
Our broad curriculum combines strong academic foundations with opportunities in sport, music, art, drama, performing arts, outdoor learning and Forest School.

Outstanding Academic Achievement
We have high academic expectations and are committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
Our 2026 Year 6 results were excellent, with 95% of pupils achieving the combined Expected Standard or Greater Depth in Reading, Writing and Maths, compared with a national average of 62%. In Maths, 100% of pupils met the accepted standard, compared with a national average of 73%.
Waverley is currently ranked 15th in the UK, based on Year 6 SATs results, and has been recognised as 'Best in Berkshire' for 14 consecutive years.
However, we believe academic success is about more than results. We want children to become curious, resilient and enthusiastic learners who are well prepared for the next stage of their education.
Opportunities Beyond the Classroom
Education at Waverley extends far beyond the classroom.
Our pupils have opportunities to develop their talents and interests across sport, music, art, drama and performing arts, alongside clubs, trips and outdoor learning.
We are particularly proud of our sporting achievements. In 2026, Waverley pupils became National Athletics Champions, winning gold in the headline 4 x 100m relay at the ISA National Athletics Championships.

Preparing Children for their Next School
Our responsibility does not end when pupils leave Waverley. We want every child to move on to the secondary school that is right for them.
Our 2026 Year 6 leavers secured places at an impressive range of independent, grammar and state secondary schools. 93% secured their first-choice secondary school, while 47% received at least one scholarship offer across academics, sport, music and the performing arts. The selective-school pass rate was 97%.
We work closely with families throughout the senior-school process, helping each child identify and pursue the opportunities that best match their individual strengths, interests and aspirations.

From Nursery to Year 6
Waverley offers a continuous educational journey from 3 months to 11 years, with Nursery, Pre-Prep and Prep School provision on one site.
This provides children with continuity and familiarity as they grow, while giving them increasing opportunities to develop their independence, confidence and skills.
For busy families, Waverley also offers wrap-around care through our Breakfast Club, After School Club and Holiday Club. Our in-house clubs provide care from 7.30am to 6.00pm, 51 weeks of the year.
